Lance Corporal John Henry Allsop a soldier from the parish, who died in the First World War.

William Henry Alsop (John Henry Allsop) Lance Corporal of the Wiltshire Regiment. Died 25 Sept 1915
aged 26 in the Battle of Loos. Commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
