Private Thomas Brogden a soldier from the parish, who died in the First World War.

Private of the 8th Bn. Princess Charlotte of Wales (Royal Berks.) Regiment. Died 25 Sept 1915 aged 22 in the Battle of Loos. Commemorated on the Loos & Buckland Memorials.
