Lance Corporal William Smith a soldier from the parish, who died in the First World War.

Lance Corporal William Smith of the 2nd/1st Buckinghamshire Bn. Ox & Bucks Light Infantry. Died 22 Aug 1917 aged 32 in the Battle of Passchendaele. Buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery.
